I watched a range of previous A2 coursework. I looked and analysed into the differences between the higher graded and the lower graded news reports and the general execution of the task. For example, if their was the correct use of sound and graphics embedded within the video and if correct news style characteristics were used for example having one lead speaker.
This video shows excellent graphic skills along with appropriate mise-en scene to match the topic and discussion shown in the video. The group also intertwine clips and images from other sources like TV shows, real game footage and YouTube videos which keep the audience engaged. These are good ways for their target audience to engage with their report. It proves they visited London as they show shots of Big Ben. They involve lots of statistics and facts. This video received an A grade and I would agree as they seem like an actual news team.
The following video has some issues and problems. The sound quality isn't very good in some areas , along with the finish of the graphics and shakiness in some shots due to the lack of control of the camera. However it has some good clips like the interviews and a banner at the end of the video advertising the various social platforms they are on. Nevertheless, the music is appropriate to their news subject and is in good timing with their shots. I would give this report a C/D grade because I felt like I was losing interest when the reporters were talking, their camera quality isn't great and it doesn't seem professional.
