Feedback lesson: Group post

As a group we asked for peer feedback regarding our website and opening sequence. The peer feedback age range of 17-18 was a ideal due to our news channel targeting students who are digital natives so what they like and dislike will be a key reflection on the attitudes towards the student news channel if it was live. The constructive criticism is a good part for research and planning because we can use it to improve our news channel for the better. Generally, the feedback given was mainly positive, for the website it was mentioned multiple times that the short Gifs included in the news articles made the website more interesting and attractive to students. The opening sequence was praised due to the upbeat and engaging music throughout but also due to the split screen effect which shows the academic yet social side of university therefore attracting students attention once more.

Analysis of websites in competition and their target audiences - Lucy

Our news report's target audience is aimed at university students. As our news report is a niche report, we will want it to be as appropriate to our subject matter as much as possible, so our target audience can relate to the report and stay engaged and interested with it for as long as possible. We will take every aspect to the report seriously so we can adapt to the topic we're talking about. For example, the reporter will be wearing clothes that aren't too slouchy or too smart, but comfy and appropriate and similar to what our target audience can relate to and feel comfortable watching as they know our report will be appropriate for their age group. At the same time, we don't want our report to be taken so seriously that it's too depressing but also not light-hearted and happy so that the message of the report isn't taken in how we want it to be addressed. an example of an outfit out reporter might wear, if it's outside, she will also wear a simple ...

Planning the script - group post

We have been working on our script for our news report, (but this is still being planned and isn't the finalized copy!)
