I have been looking at the ways news tickers are created. They are used in news reports to either describe or refer to what's happening on screen, or tell you the news reporter's name\interviewees etc. I experimented with the title templates on Premiere Elements to see what sort of style we will most likely go for, for our final news report.
I prefer the first two ticker templates from the premiere elements library just because they look more professional and that they look simple but also interesting, (so there is a point for having them on screen!) I think they are the most appropriate choice for our news topic on universities.
The BBC news ticker is simple and clear keeping to a strict theme of red with white text in most reports and also the font isn't extravagant.
The ITV News ticker is also simple and clear but we can tell the ticker isn't from the BBC because it has a different colour scheme of black and yellow.
When we decide on our ticker choice, we will make sure it's appropriate to our subject matter, that it's kept simple and gets straight to the point and also has a linked colour scheme with our report.
