Audience theory: Isobel


Audience theory: The theory views audiences as two categories, active audiences and passive audiences. An active audience is one which tries to interact with the media and challenge with what they are presented, the media has an effect on the audience. A passive audience is more observant of the news they are being presented with rather than actively responding to it. In relation to our news channel targeting digital natives we need the news channel to be as interactive as possible, so the website needs to have forums for discussions, the news articles themselves need to be presented in a creative way. As our news package aims to help young adults with their well being at University our aim is to change the way people interpret and consume the information to benefit themselves and ultimately help their well-being.
